Dreaming Encouraged - Mockumentary - Between Reality and Utopia
In our crisis-ridden world, we are accustomed to doomsday scenarios. Often, dystopias seem more realistic to us than utopias.
In this workshop, we will explore desirable scenarios in different contexts and bring them to life – creatively and sometimes humorously – using the tools of reportage.

Together, we will produce 1-2 fictional reports, each about 3-6 minutes long, which will be presented at the festival on October 26.

Workshop Leader
Uli Decker
Uli Decker grew up in Bavaria and studied Film and Theater Studies as well as Romance Languages in London, Berlin, and Madrid. After completing a Master's degree in Creative Documentary Filmmaking at the Universidad Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona, she directed short films, TV reports, and documentaries. Her most recent hybrid documentary, ANIMA – My Father's Clothes, premiered in 2022, was screened at festivals worldwide—including the Fünfseen Film Festival 2022—and won numerous prestigious awards, including the Bavarian Film Award in 2023.
Uli Decker lives in Berlin, where she works as a writer, director, and lecturer.
