The 4th Return International Film & Art Festival will take place from October 24 to 26 at the mon ami cinema, themed “Humanity – If so, why?”. A total of 600 films were submitted from over 80 countries. The selection committee has chosen 27 films to be presented in the categories of feature film, animation, and documentary.
The festival will kick off on October 24 at 5:30 PM with a street festival across from the mon ami building. Live music and drinks will create a festive atmosphere. Throughout the three festival days, film screenings will be accompanied by discussions, providing the audience with the opportunity to ask questions and engage with the attending filmmakers.
The closing event, a celebratory gala ceremony, will take place on the evening of October 26 at 7:30 PM at the Schießhaus. Awards will be presented, and afterwards, we will celebrate together with live music and DJ sets into the late hours.
As part of the accompanying program, five workshops will be offered from October 17 to 25, free of charge for all interested participants thanks to generous funding. These include a radio workshop in cooperation with Radio Lotte, a film production workshop supported by Nivre Film Studio, and an animation workshop in collaboration with Bigchild at the Bauhaus University. Additionally, creativity workshops on the theme “STRENGTHENING COLLABORATION – Tensions as a Creative Compass” will take place in cooperation with the Thuringian Creative Agency and the Media Network Thuringia at the mon ami cultural center. Furthermore, workshops on “An Interactive Encounter Workshop” at the ACC Gallery and film marketing at KulturSchaufenster will be offered.
