The 3rd Return International Film & Art Festival is dedicated to an engaging theme this year: "FREEDOM, what is it good for?" Given the current situation, the festival, from October 26th to 29th, places the topic of freedom at the center stage. With great care, 25 outstanding films have been selected from over 50 countries to showcase a wide array of cultural perspectives.

Opening Day - October 26th:

The festival kicks off in front of the mon ami building, where we will officially open the festival with a spectacular street fest. Alongside the Mayor of Weimar, Mr. Kisten, we will commence the festivities. From 8 PM, filmmakers and guests are warmly invited to enjoy the opening films at the mon ami cinema. These films include short films, encompassing animations, feature films, and documentaries. They will be screened in five exciting film blocks until October 28th at the mon ami cinema. Between the blocks, we have planned filmmaker discussions, allowing the audience to ask questions and select their favorite films.

Closing Event - October 29th:

From 6 AM, the grand closing event takes place. It begins with an inspiring speech from the Mayor of Weimar, who supports the festival as its patron. During the closing event, prestigious awards will be presented, including accolades for the best film, best animation, best feature film, and audience awards. An expert jury, comprising notable figures in the film industry such as Stephan Grossmann, a renowned actor, Martina Eitner-Acheampong, a renowned actress, and Dr. Lioba Schlösser, a respected film scholar, will evaluate the films at the highest level. Accompanying Programs: Our accompanying programs feature a wide range of workshops, providing a fantastic opportunity to delve deeper into the world of film. These workshops are designed for participants aged 12 and above, regardless of their experience. Here are some of the workshops offered:
