Description

Turkish and Iranian four women meet in Barcelona, to share their experiences of what it was like to be born and grow up as women in patriarchal and religious societies which define how and who they should be. Their memories, and stance on life come to life with the lines of Turkish poet Didem Madak, and unite them full of the feeling of sisterhood, solidarity and art.

Director Statement

I started this project with the intense feelings left by the poems of beloved poet Didem Madak. Under the impact of the women centred around revolts in Iran nowadays, I would like to make a note of the wounds and problems left by the patriarchal system in repressed societies, mainly on women, but also on everyone else who is the “other”.
