"Global mutism" is Noah's diagnosis. Since kindergarten, he no longer speaks - a puzzle for parents, friends and therapists. The ten-year-old withdraws more and more and lives in his own world.

When Noah's grades get worse and the school suggests a therapeutic boarding school, the family's world comes apart at the seams. While Noah's father tries everything to cure his child and Noah's mother gnaws at the limits of her strength, Noah discovers his own way step by step.

It was a big honor for me to film this beautiful heart touching story. I met great people, had a strong team behind me and I am really happy and proud to say, that all my love went into this film.

With LIGHTCHILD we want to point out the misunderstanding of so-called "problem children" and make it clear: no one has to bend in order to fit in somewhere! No one is worth less because he does not fit into the system. Every child comes into this world with its uniqueness and it is up to us adults to prepare the way for them so that they can develop and realize themselves.
