Description

Corrugated iron shacks on the outskirts of the city. Memories of ethnically motivated violence and displacement. A new home that is not a home. "On the Life of the Uprooted" is a cinematic exploration to the lives of internally displaced people in Ethiopia. In poetic images, intense interviews and poems, the life situation of the inhabitants of a refugee camp becomes tangible: the massacre that happened to them. Arriving in a strange place. The conflicts with their new neighbors. Between resignation and despair, the strength with which people defend their dignity and resist ethnic conflicts also becomes clear.
