Workshop 2022

1- W O R K S H O P  – Film Analysis

This year, in addition to an exciting international film program with contributions to the question “What is Home?”, the “Return – International Film & Art Festival” offers its own workshop on film analysis in cooperation with the ACC Gallery and the Film Initiative of the Bauhaus University in Weimar.

The aim of the three-day workshop is to deal with psychological, dramaturgical and narrative effects of a film on a content-related and technical-artistic level and to write their own film analysis for one of the films presented at the festival. The resulting analyses will serve as a basis for the participants, as they will act as a separate jury to evaluate the films at the festival.

Throughout the workshop, participants will receive professional support from Christian Koch, screenwriter and director of several award-winning short films. His filmography includes short films such as Der Graue Reiter(2018), A Christmas Carol (2020) and Lips & Tips (2021). He has also been running a small community cinema in Masserberg since 2009 and is the art director of Return – International Film & Art Festival 2022 in Weimar.

The workshop will take place from 24.10. – 26.10.2022, daily between 13:00 and 17:00.

A workshop report and the best results of the workshop will be presented and exhibited at the festival.

Since the number of participants is very limited, please register as soon as possible at info@returniaf.de if you are interested in the workshop.
